My Helmet Saved My Life

"I am a 55 year old woman who has ridden horses my entire life. I started in the saddle seat world on saddlebreds and morgan horses and now ride as an adult amateur on the hunter jumper circuit. I had a recent fall from a 17.2 hand warmblood who didn’t completely clear his hind end over a 3 foot fence. Fortunately, I did not lose consciousness nor break any bones but I definitely know that I landed partially on my head and suffered a mild concussion. I distinctly remember thinking to myself (as this was happening in slow motion), wow, this helmet is such a great fit, it hasn’t even shifted. I also remember feeling the helmet liner and foam absorb the impact. I truly believe that it saved me from a closed head injury."
